Description

Streamsong Blue, designed by Tom Doak and opened alongside Streamsong Red in 2012, delivers a wildly engaging round of golf that challenges perception and rewards creativity. Set across the same reclaimed phosphate mining landscape as its sister courses, Blue carves through dramatic dunes, rolling terrain, and water-filled basins with a layout that feels both adventurous and refined. It’s a cerebral experience — pure, unfiltered golf rooted in strategy and shot-making.

Doak’s minimalist philosophy shines here, especially through his use of elevation, firm playing surfaces, and green complexes that are both artistic and strategic. Fairways are generous, but precision into the greens is essential, as many are set atop plateaus, shelved against ridges, or flanked by closely mown run-offs. The routing unfolds organically across the land, with each hole offering distinct visuals and decision-making options that cater to bold thinkers and traditionalists alike.

Standout holes include the par-5 1st, which introduces the scale and openness of the property right away; the short par-4 6th, with its wild green and multiple lines of attack; and the iconic 7th — a jaw-dropping par-3 over a water-filled chasm to a perched green cut into a sand bluff. The back nine features one of Florida’s most dramatic finishing stretches, highlighted by the expansive 16th and the closing par-4 18th with its stunning backdrop.

Like all of Streamsong’s courses, Blue is walking-friendly, caddie-enhanced, and rooted in the spirit of pure golf. Whether you’re pairing it with a round on Red or playing it as a standalone test, Streamsong Blue is widely recognized as one of the best public-access courses in Florida — and one of Tom Doak’s finest works in the U.S.

More than one must-play course: Streamsong Blue is one of three elite layouts at Streamsong Resort. Be sure to explore the Red Course, a Coore & Crenshaw original filled with natural flow and width, and the Black Course, Gil Hanse’s dramatic, expansive design that brings a modern flair to Florida golf.
